Just because...

After a long day at work and its Friday, we have so much busy errands because of many customers dining in our restaurant on evenings. I went out from work so exhausted but it didn’t bother me to go home quickly. On my way, I passed a dessert cafe and noticed these tempting pieces of cheesecakes that I wondered if I could taste one of them and also bring one home to my wife. I asked if they have some cakes that are less in sugar and low fat, fortunately they have. The crew suggested two of their best selling pieces. So, I got this sugar-free cappuccino that in its appearance it surely tastes good, and yes it did. I was delightfully surprised that I wanted to try also the other one “mocha Milan” but I remembered that I’m supposed take home my wife a little present. Its drizzling as I wait for a taxi to bring me home and it suddenly came a little girl selling flowers at night and she offered me buy one. I refused but instead I gave her a penny to buy herself food. The girl smiled and went away. I’m so soothed and relaxed when I came home my wife is smiling and hugged me so tight. Thanks for the cakes.

Ramen, a taste of asia

Soup noodles are the best food in times like rainy days especially when you’re strolling around inside a mall and hunger suddenly pangs, you need a fast and hot food to warm you up. I tried a new bowl of soup noodle, the appearance quite have a little similarity with the all-time favourite Miso Ramen. It has sukiyaki beef, lots of vegetables and slices of good tasting roasted pork. The noodle is also ramen and the soup is different because you can taste a little garlic that my chef friend who prepared it described it unique. I finished one large order of it because it’s so good and very nutritious too! If you need to know its nutrition fact, here are some facts; LOW in cholesterol, saturated fat and sodium and most importantly NO sugar and monosodium glutamate. Now that you know the facts are pretty good I’m sure that it can be part of your great complete meal. So if you want to try it, you will have no worries. Also when it’s stormy, it’s also great to sip a hot coffee.

Sunday work

It’s another beautiful Sunday. Supposed to be family day but in my case I need to go to work. I woke up late because I was still up late last night. Sunday morning is so peaceful, I love Sundays. It’s time to prepare breakfast and coffee. Going to work today is easy. The traffic is light and passengers in the metro rail are few. Got to get to work early because I know diners will come early too so I need to finish all my tasks as soon as possible. All right, everything’s done. Philippine basketball star 6’11” footer Marlou Aquino and his wife visits. They have fresh sea urchin and salmon sashimi and rice toppings. What do they said about the food and service? Of course, perfect! I asked him if we could take a picture with him, he gladly agreed. He said they will come back to try other food in the menu. Thanks to our good team work. We made another celebrity customer satisfied.
It’s raining hard when I got out from work. Some streets are near the knee flooded; luckily I immediately fetch a jeep to ride home. My wife prepared a hot chicken soup for dinner perfect when it’s raining. It’s time to eat.

Agedashi tofu sashimi

Today, a good friend of mine and a Chef invited me to create a new sushi masterpiece in his kitchen. He asked me what would come with tofu, salmon, tuna, squid, olive and sesame oil, togarashi or chilli flakes and a light soy sauce. I said let’s try anything out of the ordinary. So, he deep-fried the tofu like agedashi style and made the fish into sashimi. He also prepared the sauce for the final touch. His sauce recipe he told me came from his former Japanese chef and he will share it to me after 10 years, he jokingly told me. We’re half way to finish. Assembled it the way he imagined. His first taste puts his sauce perfectly, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds and togarashi or chilli flakes. After that he wipes the plate for excess oil. Done, ready to take the picture and for the final judgement on how’s it taste like. Taste great, sauce is just perfect and the tofu is silky and delicious. I might add a little wasabi, must be much greater! Taste so good.

Roll, roll, roll, California roll

You are looking at the picture of my very first, I made it myself with of course the help of my wife =) the California roll. This sushi roll is so tasty, the mango is sweet and the kani or crab stick made a perfect combination for this all time favourite. Shrimp roe adds a little salty taste to this indulging appetizer, too. Another version of this sushi roll is that instead of putting mango in it is replacing it with avocado. Avocado is also perfect for futomaki or the thick roll. In cooking rice for the sushi, you must know the secret recipe for the seasoning. I will tell it to you later on. Back to California roll, you can spice up this dish by adding like a salad on top or simply mix in tempura flakes. So are you going to a Japanese restaurant to try it now? Enjoy!

Prince Michael Jackson II misses his daddy so much

"Where's Daddy gone?"
These were the words recently came out of Blanket or Prince Michael Jackson II, who is inquiring about his father.
On a news mag the King of Pop's youngest son is still confused about where the late superstar is.
It appears that, with his tender age, Blanket is missing his daddy and the little boy thinks that his dad is just enjoying a vacation somewhere.
Michael Jackson died unexpectedly after a cardiac arrest last month, but his seven-year-old son is too young to understand that his father has passed away.
Jackson's long-time friend, Mark Lester, was with blanket during the star's memorial service in Staple's Center Los Angeles earlieer this month when he had to answer the hearbreaking question.
Lester says, "it is obvious to me that blanket is still unsure about what exactly happened to his father. He said, 'where's daddy gone? on holidat?' It was rhetorical question and it broke my heart."
During the memorial, Blanket was holding a copy of the memorial program and the toy figure of his dad. he doesn't seem to grasp what the memorial was all about.
